Hello everyone! Looking for some information and input really.
As a spin off from - https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/unable-to-bleed-brakes.398398
I've recently learned about the Brake Bias Valve, also known by many names ("Brake Proportional Valve", "Pressure Reducing Brake Valve" and "Bias Valve") All of which achieve the same result, They limit pressure to the rear wheel to prevent them locking up during "hard braking" and allowing the driver to apply more pressure to the front wheels to stop not only quicker but safer. Like the below graph I made indicates
In relation to my other thread I'm having some issues getting a reliable brake pedal that isn't incredibly spongy, I've replaced;
Master Cylinder,
Brake Booster,
Rubber Lines (with Stainless Steel) x 4
2 of 6 Copper lines are replaced with Stainless steel
With no ABS this is really all we can do bar one more thing. The Brake Proportioning Valve, however, being apparently 1 of 100 Land rovers with this stupid thing (usually built into the Master on most cars controlled with a load sensing Valve on the rear axle) I do not want to pay the £461!?!?! to replace it!
So, I'd like to know if any wise people have any know-how to actually test the valves in this without slamming on the brakes while driving because currently the car doesn't have brakes... Not enough anyway
Further to that, if anyone just simply has experience with them, I've been looking into Custom options as they'd be cheaper and configurable.
That was a bit of a tangent, just wondering if anyone has a lot of experience working with them and could help me diag this one to ensure it is working correctly!
Thank you!
