Hi

This is going to seem like a stupid question and I know the answere BUT I would like someone to confim

Defender 90 300TDI front brake caliper. Should the bleed nipple be at the top or the bottom of the caliper when attached to the vehicle?

Yes, the top.

Why do you ask? What callipers are you trying to fit?

Well I seem to have the std calipers on the wrong way with the nipple at the bottom

Have you connected flexy pipe straight to caliper or is there a bit of solid pipe that the flexy connects to from the bottom of the caliper?

Dunno. I did not fit the calipers. Can check

sounds like some one put the calipers on wrong sides lh caliper on rhs

Here you go, this is the drivers side.

Difficult to take using an iPhone

I am off to where I bought the vehicle from to get their view on it.

To expand, since getting the vicle, about 4 months ago, the padal will sometime travel further than normal, one push and its back to normal. This seem to happen more when I am manovering, mainly backwards. All the braking system is new and I have checked the wheel bearings and they are fine.

That would mean that they could never get them properly blead?

id normally say clamp the flexi hose but those look like braided possibly,if they are undo the nut on metal pipe were it joins flexi and bung flexi so you dont loose much fluid swap calipers side to side 1/2 inch bihex is the best socket 13mm will do if bolt heads are in good nick ,

It never ceases to amaze me the stupidity of some people... When you change your oil you don't need to drain it out of the filler plug do you?

I know you didn't do this work, but I would seriously give the vehicle a good going over, check it for anything else than may be dangerous etc.
