Hi
I am going to replace the brake light switch on my 02 td4 es auto as the tc amber light keeps coming on. I have looked at several sites to purchase one and on some it says I need a extra loom to fit new switch this is getting very confusing as I thought it was a straight swap.

Its a boggo standard td4 brake switch. About £10 off fleabay. No extra bits needed.

When does the TC light come on? Is it when you pull away from a junction?

It comes on when it wants to,Most times it is just after I start up then move away,The only thing I have not done is check to see if brake lights are working when this happens.Once I turn off then restart it is ok.

TC light only isn't normally related to the brake light switch. TC will light if the vehicle spins it's wheels. Or possibly if an ABS reluctor ring is cracked.

The harness is needed if you get the upgraded brake light switch - not a grey body but black/white from memory.

Sorry I did not reply sooner but I had to go out,I have ordered a new brake light switch and also checked with the supplier it is the correct one.
As I am disabled I am going to put it in the garage I use regularly and they are very good so I will get them to check for other possible causes.
