I'm now overhauling my axles and the tin disc shields are pretty bent up and corroded. what is the general opinion on ditching these. i'm not doing any heavy off roading, the most it will see is fields and farm tracks

getting rid is best practice ,they serve no useful purpose,but to ensure that side of disc is often more grooved
