So the MOT is coming. The elephant in the room seems to be the Brake Discs:eek:
Front discs between 9mm and 10mm and the rears somewhere between 10mm and 11mm, now according to previous posts this is to thin :( if i am wrong please say!!!
How much do you reckon for new disks front and rears plus pads:eek::eek: fitted just so no fooker rips a whole out of my arse for the fun of it.........

Thanks for the warning about the calipers! how long do you reckon a competent mechanic would take to do the job?
I have not got the tools to do the job and no garage, and its bloody cold at the moment!!! Yes i am a fair weather tinkler!!!!

They will check em for condition and pad thickness and braking force.

You could buy the bits to do all the brakes and find a "diy garage" - i found one close where i'll be doing my engine change.

You could rent a bay with lift by the hour or day and sort the lot out yourself.

Cheers daz to me they look fine and stop the old tank good enough will have a hunt around to rent a ramp don't mind doing the job just not in the ****ing rain and wind on the bloody drive!!!!

If it comes apart well it's a DIY job, if something rounds, snaps or simply won't move then it's a garage job. I would charge 3hrs but if it's a pain it's extra, could take all day if everything fights yah!

Yep - it could turn into a nightmare............................

I remember it took me 25 mins to get the brake disc free from the hub when i did my disco brakes - in the end i hit it that hard that the disc broke

Don't forget the splined socket for the brake disc to hub bolts (yes i had removed them before trying to remove the brake disc :) )

Fook it i will be paying some one but the time i have bought the tools i need and hired a ramp it will cost as much to get someone to do it!

Axle stands are fine, plus any tools you get will be there ready for next job. I'd give it a go if I were you (well, I did, mine failed mot on brakes and did work myself, was easy enough taking it steady)
