Hello chaps,

Got my self a replacement B&W box as mine cant hold its drink (casing is cracked and not repairable by myself)

Anything i need to do when replacing the lump (and i do mean lump) other than put fresh oil in ?

Looking at the gurt old thing it looks like its going to be a sod !

Be careful when mating it to the gearbox, it's easy to damage the oilseal with the gearbox output shaft. Heavy awkward lump, I replaced one in France years ago when my clutch went. Did it on my back without a jack,couldn't do it now! I since bought a cradle which fits on to a trolley jack.pity you were not closer .

Check the lengths of the six bolts that attach the t/box to the gearbox.Two of them are longer, if you put them in the wrong place they can creak through into the gearbox and leak. Yes the voice of experience, sealer on the thread cured it.
