Hi

Just removed the rear seats and all the carpets to see the state of my boot floor and to my surprise its actually solid just a spot of surface rust in a couple places, so whats the best way or the best stuff to treat this ? was looking to paint the whole floor with somthing then apply some thick rubber all over for easy cleaning when off roading ? so anyone recommend any decent stuff to paint it with ?

Surface rust is best cleaned back with a pigtail cup brush on your grinder, douse affected area with kurust or other rust killer and paint with Hammerite.

if your seing bubbles at the edges and around/under the spot welds of the floor supports the you need to get under it with Dinitrol or waxoyl and spray it liberally into the joint seams, don't be affraid of scraping back the underseal to get in there, it will help get the protection where it's needed.

Doesn't sound too bad they is usually full of holes! :p

When I did mine I wire brushed the lot back, treated with fertan, followed by 2 coats of high build zinc phosphate primer, and then 2 coats of black paint.

Buy my paint from here Landrover Vehicle Paint | www.paints4trade.com if your interested it goes a long, long way!

Personally I prefer this stuff than the crap called hammerrite. ;)

If you ever paint your chassis the chassis black paint is good too. Bought 5 litres and painted 2 chassis, and 6 axles with it (all had 2 coats) and still have some left.

what were the exact names of the paints you used as cant seem to find them on the link page ?
