I have been told it could be the alternator discharging the battery, same thing happens on mine in winter but i live with it

was lookin at them batt booster things for the girlfriends granda as he's always buyin new batteries for his boat as after 6months of not running it the batt is always flat, he was just takin the old battery out and binnin it and buyin new every time!!!

one of them cheapy ones might do him as he's not using it very often.

I've used them (not the one shown here) and they're brilliant, when they work. I've used the cheapys, about £25 and they haven't lasted. I suspect you have to get a better one, probably paying around £100.
If you have access to mains,I have used the "RAC" starter/charger from Argus. Stared a V8 Classic from totally flat (no warning lights) BUT the instructions say use for 10 seconds then leave for several minutes, so probably only work if a flat battery is your only problem.

Aye that was more like the kind of thing I was expecting, cheers for that Davec.
As it turned out the battery was a duffer and just not holding a charge,
I left it on charge for 24 hours and immediately i disconnected the charger the charge dropped considerably in a short space of time.
