I've spotted these rust holes on both sides at the back of my disco, just behind the bumper.

Will it fail the MOT because of em?

O blumin hek,:( would i get away with welding a plate on to it? if not what else would i have to do?

I find it hard to believe that that's only just done that in the last few months since last mot, cause it's quite a big hole!!!!!

You need some rear body crossmember mounting brackets
from this place: MPS 4x4 Store Catalogue

Hope that helps
Dave

Good man, i'd just seen some o them on ebay, so will i still have to patch up the bodywork cause it's rusted through just above them aswel

I'm not 100% sure where you mean, but I suspect that you will need a new rear crossmember as well.

Good luck

Dave

OH DEAR :(

Doesn't look as bad as mine did yesterday before i refabricated a new rear panel myself

Looks like your gonna need to pick the body up a bit too as it looks to have sunk on it's haunches from the pics of the body mounts (mine had too) ;)

The worrying thing on mine was that the bottom and top were shot to bits so might be worth checking under the plastic strip that goes between the bumper and door aperture as this seems to be a rust trap too :(

A good days work with a grinder, MIG and some steel will see things right though :D

Ok cheers mate, will it be alright to drive around until i manage to get it sorted?

Just out of interest any idea how much it would cost to have done at a garage, think i probably will tackle this myself but just curious???

Anyone know if it'll be alright, going away at the weekend and really need to go in it if possible?

exactly the same as mine fella, goin in in next few days to get welded back up, also my door wont close as body has dropped, will look at them mounts, also under my door seal at the bottom has gone, joy oh joy, lannys whod have them, british leyland ****e lmao got to love them though
