Hello, I need to replace the blower motor resistor on my Nov 2003 Discovery 2. Photos attached. It's not the normal one with curved aluminium fins.

Part number is 07800-0700. When I search for this it seems this part number is for a Jaguar X350 resistor. Another resistor, 07800-1020, also seems to be fitted to the X350, as well as Discovery 3 and 4s. From photos these look identical.

Anyone know if the -1020 will fit a Discovery 2? They are available new and a lot cheaper (new and used) than the -0700.

Cheers, Bertie

They do look very similar ... a Denso part too.
I'd buy the cheaper one and give it a try ...

Hi, first of all the pics are not about a resistor but about the power transistor pack LR part number JGN100011, i know nothing about those 0700 manufacturer part numbers you mentioned but if the D2's connector fits into the part it should work, if you are skilled enough with electronics all you need is to remove that cooler and replace the power transistor p/n 2SK2313 or in some cases a small thermal fuse is blown which is visible, starting from post #8 HERE

Hello, thanks miktdish and sierafery for your replies. They've really helped. My plan is first to buy the transistor pack (thanks for putting me right sierrafery - transistors not resistors) for £18. This is suitable for the Jaguar X350.
The the LR part number JGN 100011 is made by Denso, part number 077800-0700. This item is also suitable for the Jaguar X350 (as well as other Jags) so hopefully what I've bought will fit.
If not, I'll get my soldering iron out and try replacing the transistor. Thanks for the part number sierrafery.
If I screw this up I'll by the Vemo's alternative, V48-79-0012, which is around £75 - a lot cheaper than the original LR part.
Cheers,
Bertie
