Hello All,

A couple of weeks ago i mentioned that my dad was having problems with the Oil Pressure Light staying on, on his 1999 L Series Freelander.

Well, we changed the pressure switch, changed the oil and filter and even fitted a brand new oil pump.

All has been fine for the past two weeks, until this weekend when my dad left the car for two days without using it. The original problem arose when he went away for 2 weeks.

So now the oil light is flickering and comes on solid when under acceration.

Any tips before this Freelander becomes firewood!

Thanks in advance ladies and gents

well would have thought youd coverd it, so its back ta sqare one, take the bulb out. . . .:)

Ouch! that hurts.

but glad it fixed - can yu give more info so someone else can check your solution if they got same prob?

just followed the wires from the oil pressure switch through the engine and found the nick in the wire. Our intial hunch was electrical. Shame we did not follow it.

it looks like it is just heat damage, no other obvious cause. Do Land Rovers need any obvious cause??? they just go wrong when they feel like it:)
