Basically we need to put new pads on our defender 110 300tdi and we cant find the bleed nipple? is there only one? Are we being blind or is there something we are missing?lol. Have only looked at the passenger side front so far.

Cheers.

James.

if you want to find the nipple to releace the pistons, dont. take the top off the reservoir and do it that way ;)

i call it a waste of time
you only need to bleed yer brakes if there's air in them
changing the pads don't introduce air

Fair enough. But i usually let the pressure off the brakes to get the pads out and back in. What will i take off to let the pressure out?

then i use a big pair of pipe wrench's to squeeze the piston back, bobs yer mothers brother ;)

if you do it that way any crap that has collected in the caliper will be reintroduced to the system and may cause problems. on some vehicle braking systems this is more of a problem than others.
if you have ever takin brake fluid out throught a nipple then you must have seen all that black crap that comes out.
generally i just push the piston back unless its time fer a fluid change, which due to the hydro-scopic properties of brake fluid you should do every two years
