On my 200 i never managed to get to the bottom bolt from the top, and I think ive changed the started at least 4 times.. on a mates 300, no problem at all, got to all of the bolts from the top

well what a **** i am..

got the new starter and went to fit it today, thought i would give it one more try but it didnt start

so i got underneath to start taking the starter off it was then i noticed it,the earth strap on the starter had the nut missing, put new nut on and it bloody started straight away.so can i have the award for **** of the day pls

Easy mistake to make!!

Thing to check now is and other connections between engine/chassis and body/battery.

Usual culprit is handbrake cable. The starter will have tried to draw current trough anything connecting the engine/gearbox to the body. Handbrake cable/throttle cable/braided fuel hose???

Check yor handbrake is still smooth, throttle etc. don't want the handbrake or throttle jamming on!
