Is this normal?
After running fo 45mins on way in to work, checked coolant level, which was ok, took off cap, bit of steam and water in tank quite hot! (could just reach with a finger)
Water level didnt change, no back pressure.
Temp was fine all the way to work, sitting just left of center, as it has since I got the car.
Anything to worry about?

nah, temp in centre or there abouts is fine and its cold outside! try not to take cap off tho when hot as this can have the effect of allowing the water in the system to boil
