How does britpart spares and other sites, compare to the landrover dealerships, is there much difference in the quality of the parts they sell, or is it just the dealerships using scare tactics. Our local landy dealer has on display a pair of brake pads/disc's that have been destroyed, with the logo, not authentic landrover parts. So it does get you wondering about the quaility of parts you get from these other unofficial landrover spare part websites. I just want to pay a fair price without being ripped off, and at the same time, put good quailty parts on me landy.:)

i think britpart are pretty good, i always use paddockspares cos theyre damn cheap

i think the quality of sum stuff off paddocks isnt the best tho, for example i changed my rear x member a few months back for one i picked up off paddocks for £130. it wasnt until we had cut off the old one that i realised how much lighter and less heavy duty the new one was.

still it does the job and shld last a gd few years i hope!

It's luck of the draw - some pattern parts are utter shoite - I just got 4 door hinges, the two for the left door were britpart and not half bad, the other two were such utterly appalling castings that they bear almost no relationship to the actual thing.

Thing is, I bought them all from the same *addocks site at the same time using the land rover part numbers.

I'd get genuine, or at least original equipment manufacturer parts for safety critical parts like brakes, steering, etc - and pattern bits where it doesn't matter so much.

With paddocks and craddocks, you sometimes don't know if it's a pattern part as the part number is the one that land rover use.

Beamends tell you if it's genuine, original manufacturer, non-original pattern etc. I'm sure a few others tell you too, but I only tend to use these three.
