Hi, as you may have seen i have recently been having problems entering my EKA Code as supplied by the stealer.

Happened to bump into the previous owner today and told him of my problem. He told me the eka code. It was different to that supplied by landrover due to the fact he swapped becm when he owned it.

This information was not passed on to me when I purchased the vehicle eight months ago. It may be a worthy question to ask for anyone looking to buy one of these cars as it caused me no end of problems and was only by luck I bumped into the previous owner. Without the knowledge of a code change I was looking down other avenues for repair an even considered breaking the car.

hi evo , have you now resynced it and all well ? let me know if my system worked then i can add to my tally cheers mozz

Hi mozz, yes it worked first time as soon as i had the right code. I was doing it right before aswell, just that my eka was different to that supplied by L/R

Many thanks for your help

Any reputable person who supplies and fits replacement Becm's should give a print out of the settings and coding data. Likewise, the seller of the car should pass this on to the new owner instead of keeping it tucked away in a drawer somewhere with the spare key(s) which usually get thrown in the bin when they come across them a few months later !!
Furthermore, if the keyfob has been replaced with one with a different Lockset Barcode from the original and the Becm FOB code changed, the OWNER should have the courtesy to nip into a Main Dealer and get the LR database amended accordingly...this also applies equally to the EKA. Failure to do this could result in some poor sod who buys the car and decides to buy a spare keyfob and literally throw £140 down the drain.

:D:D:DGreat , good news for you then !!!!! sometimes theres an easy answer sometimes not , thats when going to main stealers becomes expensive , process of elimination is often the way ,, at least yiur mobile now and its all working fine .. good luck with your motor in the future and enjoy the best a rangie can offer ,,,kind regards mozz:):):)
