Driving back from Chester this afternoon and my battery light started flickering, but not when stationary. Got home and checked it with a multimeter and i am getting 14.35v with the radio,ac and interior lights on.

I presume this a about right, i also had a new battery fitted a few months ago.

Any ideas?

Belt tension?
Sometimes an occasional flickering light is a sign the alternators on its way out, brush wear common cause, how many miles as it done?

120k and i think its the original alternator

I would say failing alternator most likely cause but could be bad connection. If it is the alternator it will gradually get worse until it fails completely,

I agree, at higher revs the brushes lose contact hence the flickering light, on tickover it often seems ok.
120K so would say plan getting a new one soon, or rebuild the old one (depending on model)

I'll get a new one, thought it might be due.

Any tips for changing it?

Cheaper to get an overhaul kit.
