Hi all,

I have a battery drain issue with a 2004 4.4.

To be honest the car only gets used once a week (if that) and every week the car battery is so flat the red flashing alarm light is not working, so i unlock the car with the key and have to recharge the battery.

I did put a new battery in it, pull the headlight fuses, replace the FSR and even pull the fuse but it is something else?

If i put a battery isolator switch between the battery negative and body, turniing it on when i need it, will id do any lasting dammage?

I know i will need to reset the radio, suspension etc. But it is easier then having to charge the battery every week.

When you say headlamp fuses....are you talking the lamps or the wipers.....??......as it is the wipers not parking properly that causes a drain, not the lamps themselves

Went out today for another look.

The air conditioning panel in the car appears to always hum, even with the car in sleep mode (no red light on the "p")

I found that if I pulled fuse 12 in the glove box, all went silent. It's labeled Air conditioner.

Could this be my problem. Is it suppose to be constantly on?

I believe my HEVAC fan takes a while to go to sleep but you could always leave the fuse out for a week. A fuse buddy is quite a useful piece of kit to track down a drain.
Regarding the headlight wipers not parking, you can pull the main plug that feeds the wipers as mine had been disconnected when I bought mine and others have found the same.leaving out the correct fuse should have the same result

There is a little fan in the dash that draws cabin air over a sensor, this fan does run on for a few mi utes after shutdown, but shouldn't run constantly.

To check, sit in the car and close the doors, then wait....dont open anydoors or press any buttons as that will just wake it up again.
