Hi all,
This is going to be my last post-200tdi conversion related question now, I promise!
Since I have fitted my 200tdi conversion, I have had small issues with the battery warning light. When I turn on the ignition, the light comes on as usual, great.
When I start the engine, the light goes dim, but it is still just about lit. The more I rev, the brighter the charge warning light gets.
With the engine running, the battery reads at 14.66v, as does the terminal on the rear of the alternator which has the two thick brown leads attached. There is another terminal with nothing attached, which read 16.??v, and a third terminal with the thin wire (is this to the warning light?)
Could I have got any of these terminals mixed up, and this is why the warning light is on? Its obviously charging the battery, so the unit cant be faulty can it?
Any ideas?
Tom
