After I Ran 40 Km Roughly In My P38 ( 1996 ) , I Arrived Home .. I Wanted To Check The Water Wipers Level , I Remark A Bad Smell Coming Out From The Fuses Box Next To The Engine ...
Is It Normal After A Trip Of 40 Km , With Hot And Sunny Whether ??

Charbel,

The fuse box is located next to the coolant reservoir. When coolant gets hot, it has a strong acrid smell, a bit curry powder. You need to make sure that the filler cap is not leaking.

YOU HAVE RIGHT ABOUT THE HOT COOLANT RESERVOIR ..
BUT WHEN I GOT MY NOSE CLOSE TO THE FUSE BOX , I COULD SMELL AN ELECTRICAL SMELL ... I DON'T KNOW IF THE FUSE BOX IS AFFECTED BY THE COOLANT RESEVOIR !!

the fusebox does have a sort of electricy smell to it. However, if everything is working OK then I wouldnt worry too much about it. You have to remember it gets very warm under the bonnet.

Also, be aware of any coolant round there as the overflow pipe for the header tank is just behind the fuse box as well so this can cause a funny smell if coolant has been vented.

As I said though, if everything is working ok then I wouldnt worry. Should you get any electrical problems in the future the fusebox could be a good place to start if you think its smelling funny.

past sunday , i had my cousin wedding . so i had to run to Beirut ( the capital ) under the sun and the hot whether ... and we came back to the church in a lebanese mountain , so , after a long trip , i did check up the fuse box , the smell was natural , there was an electricity smell , as u said ..
but now , you assure to me that the smell is somthing normal .
