Hi all ... almost finished my 200tdi Defender having fitted a new rear 1/4 chassis and 2" lift kit. Only thing niggling me is the wipers. They over-run and stop mid windscreen when you turn them off. They have also started to turn on when I flash the lights and tonight just decided to start on their own! HAs anyone else had this trouble and if so did you get to the bottom of it? Not serious but annoying all the same.

did you have the tub for welding

try again did you take the tub off for welding?

My mate welded it at his workshop but the tub stayed on throughout. The electrical problem was there before this though. Bought a 1/4 chassis from Mibcomponents in Warwick. The old one looked like an apple crumble but not as strong!

sounds like a wire earthing out as you say the wipers work when you flash your lights and i would at a guess say it was most likely by the bulk head,

That's what I suspected ... I think I'll open up the stalk housing and see if I can see anything in there. Do you know where the bulkhead earth strap is situated by any chance?
