Hi Folks, I've stripped the front axle right down, to sand blast, paint and rebuild. Couple of questions:

What grease should I use on the CV Joints? Moly grease?

Do the new wheel bearings need to be oiled or greased?

Has anybody left the axle oil seal out, to allow oil to lubricate all the way past the swivel joint to the drive flange, as opposed to using one shot in the swivel joint?

1/Moly

2/ greased

3/ NO oil will run out and probably contaminate brakes..

removing oil seal in stub axle and replacing grease seal in hub with earlier oil seal was something that was done when fitting maxi drive diffs so that lube was present for drive flange splines ,td5s do suffer with lack of lube there and are often worn and rusty ,it can still be done but swivel housing is missing drain and level plugs

that ,makes sense. I read somewhere else that you could drill and tap your own filler and drain. Seems like too much work- I'll just keep an eye on the swivels and make sure the grease is ok...
