Hi Guys I want to again draw upon the amazing knowledge that this forum brings together. I am doing a front axle rebuild I have a 10 spline, axle on a 92 200tdi disco 1 LHD, I wish to replace with a 24 spline 300tdi disco 1 axle from a RHD car. Obviously I will have to use the lhd swival pin housings and I guess hubs, does anyone know what is compatible. I want to use the 24 spline diff and halfhsafts and the 300tdi axle, but need to use the LHD specific parts is this possible? I see on microcat the swival pin housings have different part numbers 300-200tdi, does anyone know if I can use the 300tdi half shafts/diff/axle casing and the 200tdi gear from the swival balls out? Are the half shafts allways the same length, I know the 200tdi are 32 spline cv end, if the 300tdi's are the 32 spline ones will they fit? Thanks for your expertise I appreciate the help. Cheers Jim

ok well if the lhd bit confuses the issue (the only differeance is the swival pin housing).

Will the 200tdi hub componants swival ball, swival pin housing, swivals, hub, brakes, bearings, cv's, ect (everything from the swival ball out) fit on a 300tdi halfshaft, diff and axle casing? Cheers Jim

the chrome balls are the same for 300 and 200 except abs which uses earlier defender ball ,stub axle ,hub ,drive member are narrower on 300 to allow aliminum wheels better fit and so cv is shorter than 200 ,all 300s have cv with 33 splines ,if your 200 cvs have 33 splines and not 23 you could fit 24 spline shafts to your 200 cvs and so fit swivel housing stub axle hub etc ,you can get double armed swivel housing and fit that to 3oo axle to make rhd lhd ,we used to do them for lr that way so one axle fitted both markets
