hello my 1999 dse has a prob when u first start her,
you change from drive to reverse and it will stall
or the other way round. if u keep u foot down a bit its fine but still drops revs when change.

Petrol or Diesel???

The system is designed to adjust idle speed based on load (Engaging Drive, Electric Loads, Power Steering etc etc)

Put it on diagnostics and check the idle speed, it can be adjusted via diagnostics, you could also try unplugging the MAF and check the needle lift sensor.
It may also be a worn stop in the FIP.

lol dse is a diesel i did think wtf. it had a new idle speed onit in sep if thats the bit on inject 3-4

No injector number 4 is the needle lift sensor, worth checking the connector, otherwise unplug the MAF and see if it is different.
You will end having to put it on diagnostics.

Now i have a DSE and i had a problem where it would stall going from P to D unless i gave it a few revs but i found the problem while looking to cure another problem, this sound like a load of bs and your problem may be a million miles from mine but it was a bad earth on the lead that is bolted next to the alarm , no guys i kid you not, i can go outside now and remove that lead and it will stall moving the shift lever.

Just goes to show what trouble a bad earth can cause.

If anyone knows how or why it caused that i would be gratefull to know.

Now i have a DSE and i had a problem where it would stall going from P to D unless i reved it as little, now i had a heavy duty battery gave me so before i fitted it i removed all the earth leads and cleaned them up, started the engine to reverse out of the garage and it never stalled so i thought thats strange, so i knew it was something i had done changing the battery, so i removed the earth lead that is bolted near the the alarm went from P to D and it stalled.
Its not a crazy story it was my stalling problem, not saying its your problem but a bad earth on thease vehicles can cause some strange problem.
That's useful info:D

Cool lads ill have a look. Where's the alarm lol

Alarm sounder is between fuse box and ECU box on R/H wing. If you undo and move fuse box to get at anything. Disconnect battery first or you may have a firework display.

The alarm is near the earth lead, I know it sounds bloody stupid and i thought twice about posting it as i might get some stick, but that was what was happeng to my vehicle, found out putting it in drive was moving the engine slighty and pulling on this lead breaking contact

I have that problem stalling when moving to drive or reverse but holding revs up by 100-300rpm that would cure it mine was trace to the fuel quantity actuator on the fip it was loosing fip case pressure but holding the revs takes over the fuel quantity actuator. Basically you over ride it I would get it on diagonstics and go from there
