it doesnt have bands if in a disco,only clutch packs rebuild it before its totally ****ed ,you can often get away with a cheaper job if caught early once a pack has started to slip it needs replacing
 
remove box from vehicle and if you want to have a go your self i can supply you parts or inform you of auto part supplier and tell you how to do it
 
depends on your abilities ,its not for me ,but you could either pay £600 -£1000 for recon ,used one £250-£500 ,or fix it if not too far gone £200-£300
 
none remove box from vehicle ,remove t/box stand on end with bell housing upwards let me know and i give you instructions on the phone if youd like
 
Ive used another make additive to my auto box I think it was STP mine wasnt slipping but years ago I had problems with a auto box on a cavalier and it cured it so I put it in all my auto boxes, there is a thread some wear about draining the box taking the gearbox sump off removing and replaceing oil filter and seal and refilling with ATF and I add the additive a good one will cost £20 plus but it supposed to coat all bands clutches and revitalise all seals ect.
