I have just had my 300tdi auto converted from EDC to a mechanical pump, however the gearbox now seems to change up at much higher revs 3000+ and is very jerky when doing so to how it used to be with the EDC system.

It had been standing for 2 months while waiting for me to locate all the parts.

Could it be something to do with the kick down cable? I cant think of any other part connected to the gearbox.

Or is my gearbox on its way out and its just a coincidence.

Hi. It's the kickdown cable. Just slacken it off a little and it will stop holding the gears and the change will be smoother. Might take a bit of trial and error to get it perfect. Just don't drive it with the cable disconnected!!

The mechanic was supposed to have test driven it, mind you he did not really know how it went before. I will have a play at the weekend and get it adjusted right.
