hi all just changed my auto gearbox oil + filter as I have no forward gears only reverse. went through the gears and topped up as wife was changing the gears. it made no difference , but I had the engine ticking over for about half hour as I was cleaning up and the gearbox oil temp light came on could it be the gearbox oil pump causing me the problems ??????????.

did you fit both o rings to filter , what was old oil like

yes both. oil was brown and black muck in sump.

when you check level of box lever must be in neutral ,you only run through the gears once then return to neutral to check level, are you getting no feeling d is actually trying at all

check level again , without knowing how much crud or how black oil was its hard to say if a clutch is burnt, can be stuck valve etc

yes , and usually its the clutch behind the bell housing and oil pump

depends ,ive done a lot so easy ,they are heavy and torque converter bolts can be awkward

you can diagnose a solenoid fault ecu fault but not box mechanicals
