hi guys unsure if I'm chasing an issue but only recently noticed that my TC can stay locked up in 3rd gear all the way down to 50 kph = 31 mph
in 3rd gear it wont lock up until 70 kph 43 mph
in D (drive ) tc locks up at 80 kph 49 mph but unlockes at 70 kph 43 mph

like I say unsure if this is normal so I would like to compare my lock up speeds to others

In 4th 52mph but once locked you can drop about 45mph and gently accelerste again without inlocking. When fully warmed up.

Those are quite good speeds as mine is slightly over 50 before it engages in top

It's annoying stuck behind someone doing 49 and you're trying to get that little extra to get it locked. Usually manage it about 30 seconds before they slow down needlessly and it drops out again.

Had that Saturday with some shitty Renault people carrier. I forced my way past at traffic lights, (out accelerated and nipped past) and stuck to mid 50s until I got to a town.

what about 3d gear LOCK UP ? and UNLOCK ?
mine seems to lock up at 43 mph
unlock is 31 mph

Does it lock up in the lower gears? Camnot say I've noticed it.

yes it locks in 3rd gear that's why I use it around town or when I I'm very close but just not enough speed to lock in D
unsure about other discos but mine is a D2 2002

3rd gear lock up pulls like a train and very nice to drive but I have noticed it stays locked longer while slowing down than compared to 4th
maybe these speeds are normal I don't know but trying to confirm

I put my speeds of unlocked and locked in the original post

that's why at lower speeds I use 3rd gear if I cant get to 4th gear lock up speeds

in 3rd gear TC can stay locked down to 31 mph just wondering is this normal ?
lockup starting point is 43 mph
