Has anyone fitted the long stick to short stick kit from ashcrofts?
I have recently bought a disco 2 v8 r380 gearbox (53a********J) for my 90.
The original plan was to mock-up the conversion using the above box then sending it to ashcrofts for a rebuilt unit but in long stick format.

not an ashcrofts one but ive converted quite a number most ways whats your question

Just wondering what they thought of the kit really, ease of fitting, how does the shifting feel etc.

Seeing as your on the site james, what do you think of the box i have bought? Is it a good variant?

v8 has taller 5th gear but all the boxes are basically the same but suffix k and l having strong input bearing and rear layshaft bearing than suffix j,is your 90 v8

My 90 is a 200tdi but i have a 3.9 ready to go in

ok so v8 is what you need so its only a matter of removing gear box top ,yoke from selector shaft 5mm allen key,fit adapter and long stick gear box top,do you have a long stick r380 top

I have one on my lt77. You did mention to me that it will fit with some modifications?

yes on underside you remove interlock pedestal and blank off rev plunger hole,plug rev switch hole
