My D1 clutch pedal is on the floor. I'm 99% sure it's the clutch fork that has failed so it's a gearbox out job. I would be foolish not to get a new clutch fitted at the same time so I'm looking at prices. Britpart clutches are nice and cheap but are they any good? Or should I spend more and buy a different make?

Cheers, Vince.

Brit part sell both cheap and good oem parts. You just got to ask. Don't say what is your best price as then you will get the cheap stuff

Bare in mind that Britpart is just a wholesaler, a warehouse if you like. They don't make anything themselves.

Pretty-much all the Britpart stuff I've bought worked fine for me - that's over a 12yr period.

Mine has been in 3 years or so now and still going strong and by fook does it get abused. It was the Bp heavy duty clutch and bearing with a reinforced fork.

I got a used Valeo one, been in for less than a year, hardly touched, with heavy duty clutch fork
Its two part but got no thrust bearing with it.
Forty quid posted on Monday arrive Tuesday:)
Out at show all day tomorrow but will check puter Mon

i put 2 britpart clutches in my disco 300tdi in 55000 miles. 1st when i replaced the gearbox and the 2nd when the clutch fork went 28000 miles later. the 1st clutch was hardly touched, but replaced as the box was out. i beefed up the reinforcing on the heavy duty fork by welding a plate on the back where the rod sits. did 23000 miles no bother. most of my driving was with a 3500gwt trailer attached, so not an easy life for a clutch.

Think a TD5 clutch will work and needs no reinforcing
