Daz, it will fit either front or rear. Only thing with putting it on the front is that it kind of makes steering 'awkward'. Fitting in the rear is more common, check YouTube for some information, makes a huge difference in traction.

it is for me ,but shouldnt be an issue for competent diyer if got the full instructions ,but things like crown wheel run out should be checked with a dti if your going to do the job properly
 
Afraid not, the actual locker needs to be fitted into your diff (someone correct me if I'm wrong, please). I'm told it's a relatively easy job to do?

Think il just buy the front Ashcroft locker as that's £760 built in a diff ready to fit from crown diffs, I have a compressor for my rear Ashcroft locker

Isn't 1k abit steep for a arb? If you consider there's no warrenty and its not even in a diff?

Isn't a arb £650 ish and a compressed around £200
