You can find them occasionally on ebay, but dont expect them to be cheap - and since they commonly fail, you wont be guaranteed anything.
The amp from the same-era BMWs with H/K systems is, I understand, a direct replacement.
And no, you can't replace them with aftermarket amps, without serious wiring modifications and the addition of a set of (at least) passive crossovers...

I had to find one a year or so back. The BMW ones not a direct replacement for mine as different with no sat nav mute etc tried one - very frustrating. There was someone on ebay who had new ones not but same problem worked but no sat nav voice. 0094 but 0010 or 0100 I seem to remember.
