Right im after something along the lines of a wind generator/turbine for simple outdoor battery charging.
Does anyone here use one on a boat, or has used one?
How effective are the smaller ones? Im looking at a Rutland 503.

And does anyone have one they want to sell by any chance?

is it for charging a 12v battery len, if so there is a solar panel thingy on ebay that is good, only about 20 quid ;)

Ye its for charging battery when out and about.
Thing with solar panels is you need a decent one, at least 60 watt upwards to do a half decent job. They are very easy to break, and they dont work at night.
The wind jobby keeps going even when your asleep.

i seen one being used to run a telly and fridge once, years ago. i've no idea what make or output it was.

we have 36 of em in the sea about a mile off the coast, they reckon they provide enough power to boil 3 kettles all at the same time ;)

you get special strides made with turbine in the back.;then all you would need do is eat lots of beans
