gerabox died this morning, my own fault,accidentally ran it 5 miles with no reverse light switch in n lost all my oil, refilled with oil last night and was driving down a1 this morn doing about 60 in 5th gear strange whiring noise for couple of secs then clunk, is now stuck in 5th gear gear stick still moving but when you put it in any gear its still in 5th, been recovered home and looking for cheap but reliable r380 box in north east area

I've got one, with t/fer box. £100 its yours, but i'm in Southampton mate, which is a bastid..........it might be worth posting on the courier service thread.......you never know, some folk might be able to help.

thanks m8, thats a great price but i got one from ebay last night, £120 + £55 delivery so it'll be here for saturday, just got to get someone to fit it before thursday so i can get to billing!!!
anyone know a rough price for labour for this job? been quoted £150 which i think is reasonable.

£150 is cheap. Most places quote £250+ in labour to do a clutch, which you should also do while its out. I would do the rear crank seal as well for another couple of quid.

clutch was only done in jan, booked in for tuesday at local garage, remove old box, take transfer box off, fit trabsfer box to new gearbox and fit new gearbox £250.for some reason they wont change oil in new box so i'll do that myself
