What a farce, the guy testing it DID NOT have a clue about 4x4's, tried to do a brake test on a roller for 2WD vehicles, until I ran shouting at him, he said he'd have to disconnect the prop shaft ????

My 2nd word was .... OFF !!!!!

So he resorted to a drive fast slam the brakes on in the car park test ????? and said the brakes were 'fine' . . . . ho hummmm !!!!!!

Thats how they used to test the brakes before they had the rollers and its still ok to do it that way,they also use a swingometer type thing which name now escapes me.

wud that be a decellerometer.

And what exactly are you saying is the problem testing Disco brakes on a standard MoT Roller pair?

I hope you aren't saying it will harm the car or give false readings.

My TD5 Disco has been tested several times that way, and the Def 90 more times than I can remember. Discomania's got the Def 90 now, and after the new chassis was fitted last month it was MoTed on a standard MoT roller setup, and no problems there.

There is a problem with the handbrake though. It isn't a good plan to pull that on when two wheels are on the floor and the other two are being driven by the rollers. Basically the car jumps off the rollers if the hand-brake is good.
