Have been told that there is some form of 4x4 track out in the lanes from cwmbran to risca. Have had a look on google earth and think I have found it. Has anyone used this or have any more info on who owns it etc??
Well my father in law has seen loads of 4x4s going round and on google earth there is definately a lot of tracks showing so will pop out sometime this week for a drive and have a nosy. Will let you know.
As far as I can see it is owned by a farmer. Not sure if he charges people to go round or whether he just uses it himself with a few mates. Will find out if I can.
adam reading one of the 4x4 mags this week cant remember which one had an article on a green lane run from cearphilly to neath with a map ref no.s.I would check out if that lane is legal lot of small lanes around ther but with all the trouble they used to have on twmbarlem(excuse spelling) police have had many a purge up ther
Cheers mate, will check that out. Most of the lanes and mountain's have been totally closed around here now due to motocross bikes ripping them to shreds. Something I was guilty of many years ago so not moaning at them. Very hard to get anywhere here now which is a shame because there is some lovely tracks around the forests up in the mountains.
Well after much exploring it seems as if the track that I can see on google earth must be on the top of the mountain maybe in Twmbarlwm, but try as I might I can not seem to find a way to get up there. I have tried 2 different routes today but both have led to steel gates (unlocked) but the ground looks a bit too challenging for my almost standard 90 to carry on so I have given on on both attempts. Does anyone know if you can still get to Twmbarlwm these days or have all the routes been blocked??
Meetin at crossgates near llandrindod wells for 8 .... For breaky then up to nant y moch and then where ever we end up could be strata for on way home ?
