Because it doesn't fit my 1990 90 and I can't find a picture of one that looks like it :(

I've never seen a 90 tank with the filler tube in that position :confused: its on the side and is connected to the cap by a rubber pipe
 
I stupidly didn't check it was exactly the same before I bought it because a quick google showed a huge year range on the same tank
 
Looks to be a secondary tank for a 110/130 rather than a main tank for a 90, is it marked NTC2089 or ESR4132?

The old one is going back on, I'm going to get it welded

I paid £35 for it so I'd be happy to get that back, just googled the part number, this one is a genuine LR one , aftermarket are £180 genuine £350 + vat :eek:

Whats it off then? I would like to try and adapt it to fit my 90 as I too have a leak:rolleyes:
 
Looks the same as the tank that was on "A 4x4 is born" when he builds a 100" rangie / 90 hybrid, he had to send the tank away for the filler pipe to be moved to that vertical position and the breather across.
 
It's a secondary tank for a 110 but it goes under the seat in the same place as the 90 tank , on the 110 the tank is at the back

It's new, there's a bit of light surface rust and a couple of shallow dents but it's not rusty inside, just wants a swill out with some petrol
