Before I book the ferry will I have any problems driving in Eire with an English registered Land Rover
Last time I went was during the troubles (1970's) and I was nervous to say the least![]()
None, I travel regularly from Scotland to Donegal and never had a problem.
Last time I was there was stopped by the Gardi at a routine road block, asked for my licence, which i had forgot, no big deal and sent on my way.
If you use common sense travelling through the like of Belfast and the North and avoid known hot spots you'll be fine.
When I said Belfast I meant not veering off the motorways into built up council areas.
I'm sure stenna have moved from the city centre and when you leave the dock you're straight onto the motorway.
I usually go into Marne as the ferry leaves from Troon during the summer months and saves a drive to Stranraer
Motorway ??
Have they got a motorway there now
Last time I was over it was lanes and the 'Broad Road' mind you it was 1962
Is derv cheaper in the south by the way?
Think they not only have an M1 but an M2 as well.
Diesel is cheaper in the south but don't get it too close to the border as it seems to go up in price.
Mind and drive on the same side of the road when you cross the border![]()
