so any one tried one of those ebay engine management things they start at £20
says it sorts all cars etc

The unit is not able to communicate with the vehicle due to the landrover use of bespoke proticals.

You will need: nanocom, faultmate, bearmach hawkeye or the new lynx made by britpart.

Safe to say you will need around ! £300+ to get one...

You will get minor information from an OBD protocol on the petrol P38's Engine ECU as these were EODB compliant...but the Diesel uses proprietary Bosch Protocols...and the rest of the P38 systems are LR protocols only!

A bloody good 1 that I use is AUTODIAGNOS that can reprogram and set setting for alarm daytime running lights etc etc,

Yeh don't get me wrong there soddin expensive but I use it on all cars in my trade so it pays for itself (1 day I hope) but it can do EVERYTHING that the Landrover dealers can do.

Nanocom does the daytime lights as well. And can you can change the alarm settings too.
