currently have 10 spline half shafts and diff to match on my 200 tdi..the diff is whineing a bit and i have been offerd a 24 spline diff cheap but i have to get half shafts to match..is it worth swapping and are there any major benefits over the 10 spline?ta

It is said that the 24 spline jobbies are stronger but I've never had any problems with 10 spline ones.

unless your planning on fitting some very aggressive off road tyres or the 24 spliners are very cheap and you fancy a bit of work doing the swap then i wouldnt bother........

I've never broken a 10 spline one in 30+ years.....

smashed a 24 spline couldnt get a cheap replacement so swapped to a 10 spline to get me away and not had any probs with it since.
