Can Anyone help?
Just got a replacement Disco as my old one failed MOT.
It was working OK but it has a tendency to overheat for no good reason.
The other day temp went up to max indicator, and started to drop and then the temp rapidly came back to normal. I would suspect a thermostate if it had one. When I got the car the heaer matrix had been bypassed, I connected it back up, and the pipes to the heater matrix (Rubber in Engine bay) get hot, but heater does not. Centre console removed to connect up the heater matrix, and on a journey the matrix goes hot and cold without the blower on. and when the blower is on it does not blow hot to the car when you can feel the matrix is hot. The main problem is the engine temp issue, I mention the matrix if that helps identify the problem.

Hi:welcome2:
Which engine is it? Could well be an airlock in the the matrix.

It's best if you go to the intro section and let everyone know who you are - just a bit of self defense for you

Sorry I am bit dumb on that one, its a diesel, 1995, 2.5. is that what you want to know?

How do I introduce myself? I am new to this as well.

Bleed the beggar

Open the explanation tank.

Remove plugs from the rad and the thermostat housing and fill up with your favored coolent.

Replace the plugs start and run up to temp keep engine on then switch heater to full hot and fan on
you may have to blead the rad by lossing the plug letting air out then retitaning this can be replaced with a household radiator bleed plug.

Keep the cap off the header tank when bubbles stop in header tank and heater is blowing hot then job done.
