I have an engine management anomily with my TD5 (see my various posts) and the supplying dealer did not seem to want to sort it out. Eventually I wrote to Land Rover Customer Services, to see if Land Rover would take it back and sort it out. They would not, but directed me to another dealer. I contacted them, and after explaining what was wrong to their chief engineer, he said "that could take hours to sort out, and LAND ROVER WON'T PAY US FOR THAT SORT OF THING..." "We fix those kind of faults as a COURTESY to people who buy their vehicles from us..." (i.e not me)
However they did say that if I took the Defender in and there was an "obvious" fault with it they would sort it.
No wonder dealer's don't want to look at dodgy TD5 engine management systems if Land Rover won't pay them!
