 Just got back from a trip along the ridgeway and I ain't happy:mad:

Hit a massive lump of stone hiding in the grass on a bend and wrecked one of my new side steps!

Only had them fitted last week!

Oh I know, it's the risk you take. it just puts a crimp on your day when the worst happens. I would of been happier if I had had them on for a few months but last week:eek:

Still on the upside, no other damage. Just ordered a replacement at £80 as they will supply just one side I need. 6 Bolts and it will be sorted again.

if they're the standard black ones u can sand it down with a bit of wet and dry and get some black spray (Hammerite smooth spray). done it to mine you never even notice till u run your hand across it.

Got to be worth a try if it saves you £80!! :)

Thanks for your advice and help stownrow but the one on ebay is very different from the ones I have, they had to be a bit wider so the the other half who is a bit stumpy can climb up on them to get in without slipping.

The one that is damaged is completely knackered and beyond repair.

Thanks again stownrow.

...and just think what could have got bent if you didn't have steps when you hit the rock!!

Cheers
