My Wife has told me that the amber TC light surrounded with a dotted circle and the vehicle pointing downhill has been illuminated on her dash whilst she was driving.

She has now told me that those lights have gone and it has been replaced by a red one reading SRS

I have no idea what these lights are and was hoping someone may have an idea.

Is there another expensive bill ahead :-( ?

Thanks

As drivers, you and your wife need to understand what warning lights mean. If you don't have an Owner's Manual, you should find one on line and read it thoroughly to understand the vehicle you are driving.

The TC and HDC(car pointing downhill) are functions of the ABS(anti-lock braking system) and as such should be investigated when they first appear.

The SRS is the Airbag system.

Whilst these lights warn of faults in those systems, it is not always the systems that are at fault. Sometimes there are faults in the monitoring systems caused by minor switch or connection faults as the system depends on comparing signals from many points.

It is a time consuming and tedious process of checking and cleaning the various switches, connections and most importantly the sensors that are monitoring everything on the ABS and also the general wiring that supplies power to its' many parts.

As there are other fault lights (SRS) it might point to something supplying power to all, ie. in the ignition switch or something similar.

There are several threads that mention "Three Amigos" that could give you some clues.
