i have a 300tdi auto 1994,a i right in thinking that it does not have a spider,i only ask cos i dont fancy ripping out half of the dash to find there isnt one,my problem is i have power to the ignition but it wont turn the starter when i turn the key to start position,any help appreciated.

Does it have a one button or two button remote? If it's one button no spider.

My guess would be that you have a faulty ignition switch - 5 mins to change and cheap to buy new. Plus you won't need to change your key, as you can change JUST the switch.

no i,ve never had the remote fob for the car so couldnt tell you,and is he ignition switch at the bottom end of the barrel?

Yes it is, just one screw on the ignition barrel and plugs into the wiring looms - takes 5 mins tops !!!

thanks very much will take a look tomorrow when its a bit lighter outside,think i can get my hands on a replacement tonight ,just hope the brother in law doesnt need his disco tomorrow!and if it works he might have to go without for a few days
