P38 DHSE 2001 here with a failing alternator. I fitted a 1000cca battery last year and the lack of output from the stock alternator has eventually killed it. A new battery has revealed the alternator problem - it charges but not enough to properly condition a 130ah 1000cca battery.
My question is this:

Does anyone know if a TD6 L322 alternator will fit my P38? .
The TD6 alternator is listed as 150a output which seems much better.
Some sites list the TD6 unit as correct for the Vauxhall Omega 2.5td so it may fit other M51 engines I am hoping.
Anyone got any ideas or experience please?

Alternator is putting out 13.86v at idle with no load. No increase in output with increased revs. I've checked all the earths etc and still no improvement.

It seems this car should have a 120amp alternator fitted but theres no record of this part on any of the usual suppliers on the net. Plenty of 105a ones listed though.

Checked the BECM and it is sleeping ok.
Any ideas what the correct part number is for the 120a alternator? Cant find this in any previous posts.

Try Island 4 x 4 , Famous 4, Paddocks etc. The important thing is that the regulator set point is 14.2 volts or more, up to 14.5v is fine. 13.86 is NBG.

Alternator current ratings varied by year, I believe early was 105 amp and later was 120 amp, not sure though. It may be possible to find a 150 amp that will fit.
