So having just spent £1700 on modifications and repairs my car is spraying out oil all over the engine.

From looking it seems it the oil pipe on the alternator. Question is that as I have to take all the bits off to repair the pipe is it worth replacing the alternator whilst I'm there? The car has done 92k

Ours has covered double that mileage, I'd have a listen to the bearings when it's off and decide then.

The oil feed isn't for the alternator, those bearings are usually sealed for life. The oil is for the vacuum pump, if it's only just started leaking then it's a pretty fair bet that the bearings in the pump haven't been starved so I reckon they should be OK.
But don't hold me to that ;)

Ah no worries, off to the garage again :( I checked my receipts and repairs have cost me 6k this past year :(
