Hi All,

I have searched for this issue, and I cant really find anything relevant.

I have a '95 300TDi with a 1 button fob for the alarm. This has been playing up so I am not using it anymore and just using the key.

With increasing regularity, when I unlock the car with the key, the alarm goes off. If I lock it again and then unlock, all is good.

It has been suggested that I disable/bypass the alarm system but I dont have a clue how to do this and what is involved. Apparently, it is only a matter of time before it completely screws up and leaves me stranded.

Can anyone please help me?

When unlocking with the key the alarm senses the current drain from the central locking and activates the alarm. The reason it doesn't happen the second time is the alarm takes a few seconds or so to settle after it's set, wait a bit longer and try it again.

Fob do go faulty so have a word with Remotkey about having yours referbished or just get a replacement from ebay and they are user programable.

Thanks for the info, but I am happy not to use the fob.

How can I get round this issue with just using the key?

Jason
