so just reading the forum and my alarm starts going off? it re set itself by the time I got the keys, unlocked and locked on the fob and sat back down, its gone off again, no one near it as we have cctv, but would this be as the car has been sitting stationary for a few weeks and battery maybe getting low????
 
I think in 13 years of ownership that my alarm has randomly gone off 4 or 5 times for no reason at all :confused:

Only thing I can think off is there a butterfly or other flying insect inside car setting of the motion sensor ?

Some time's I just lock with key so this is de-activated !

Don't think battery condition will make alarm sound but check the voltage anyway ?

Sounds like my problem ...the volumetric sensor in the roof is probably on its way out ...if it keeps happening just lock it with the key.
 
so if I lock with key on drivers door, will that still lock all doors and turn the alarm off??

yup its weird as have not done anything to the car since it went off, and its not happened again.....yet,lol
 
Just lock with the key ..this locks everything and activates the alarm but does not activate the volumetric sensor alarm ( detects movement inside the car) .
Unlock with fob as usual.

Im currently doing this all the time till I get a new volumetric sensor...next on the list;)

cheers brack, this makes perfect sense now, as my rear door/window bodge means that there's a gap around rear window, enough for a fly or strong wind to get into/blow through
 
beware, a single lock with the key will lock the vehicle without the alarm, but also doesn't "superlock" (i.e. dead lock) the doors

not too worried at the moment, the cars are the opposite way around to my profile picture, so apart from having the garden fence in front of it, after that they would need to drive through my works van, plus cctv looking straight at it, reckon they would pick something else to pinch

Locking once with the key will set the alarm witout the interior sensor, turning the key twice within one second will also superlock.
 
Or you can disconnect the sensor. This will allow to to continue using the fob to lock. The sensor lives behind the headlining to the rear of the interior light.....
 
I had my alarm going of on my old freelander many times and found out it was a taxi who had not tested his standing wave ratio (SWR) on his radio I did it for him . he now gets messages better and his signal back to base is better .

yep, it was a taxi that dropped off late at night always started my alarm going, reckoned he was calling for another fare.
