The friend we sold our D1 to has managed to lose a set of keys !
How do you go around getting and programming a new key fob ( two button) and can a replacement key just be cut by a locksmith
Your help as always is appreciated

Ha! Funny you say that I've just been through a similar thing.
For me the key fob had to be done via a landy dealer and was considerably cheaper than having a 2 button fob programmed.
The key can be cut by any decent auto locksmith who can do it from you barrel.
In my case the door lock was different to the ignition fob and it was cheap for the chap to re-cut the barrel to fit the ignition than cut a new key
So don;t fear it can be done and it;s relatively simple although you may want to not on the log book or somewhere what the reference code for the key is for the future.

Thanks for the info mate. it was as I thought but fobs on eblag seemed a "cheaper" option than the stealer's
Just trying to ring em now and find out how much they will rip him off for a fob and programming
